Dominican Sisters of Peace Annual Mission Bazaar

The Dominican Sisters of Peace in Great Bend will host their Annual Mission Benefit Bazaar from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov.13, at 3600 Broadway in Great Bend. There will be coffee and rolls will be served in the morning, soup and pie for lunch, hundreds of handcrafted and homemade items, the famous raffle, unique gift theme baskets, and a silent auction. Barton and K-State sign additional transfer agreements

Barton Community College signed four new transfer articulation agreements recently and re-signed two existing agreements with Kansas State University over the last several months. These agreements allow a seamless transition from Barton to K-State.

John Davidson fourth performer of Community Concert Association season

Musician, actor and television personality John Davidson will perform the fourth concert of the Golden Belt Community Concert Association's 2010-11 season. Set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium, Lakin and Stone, the concert is available to concert association members. Full-time students will be admitted to the concert for a $5 donation at the door. The auditorium will open at 6:30 p.m.

Girl Scouts uniforms remain in USA

For the first time in nearly a decade, Girl Scouts of the USA is putting the manufacture of its uniforms out to competitive bid. News of this led to reports that the uniforms might soon be manufactured overseas, and over the last few days, Girl Scouts of the USA has been contacted by parents, members, and volunteers urging the agency to make sure that the iconic Girl Scout uniform continues to be made in the USA.

Kansas Sidewinders host Casino Night

Kansas Sidewinders will host a Casino Night fundraiser for the United Way of Barton County from 7 to 10 p.m. on Nov. 6 at 21 N. Main Street in Ellinwood.
