Davis case goes to jury

The jury heard closing arguments Tuesday and will begin deliberations Wednesday morning in the trial of Jacob Ryan Davis. He is charged with four counts of aggravated assault, stemming from an altercation that happened around 2 a.m. on Nov. 2, 2014, at Charlie's Place bar in Great Bend.

A rural Albert man and former pastor arrested last Thursday on a child pornography charge remains in the Barton County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond, Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said.

Ticket, other details for Friday football game announced

The Class 5A Regional Football game between Great Bend High School and Maize South High School will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Great Bend's Memorial Stadium. This is a Kansas State High School Activities Association-sponsored event and passes will not be accepted. Ticket prices are $5 for grades K-12 and $6 for adults.
