BCC to close for holidays

Barton Community College offices will close for holiday break Monday, Dec. 22. All offices will reopen Monday, Jan. 5. Spring semester classes will begin Monday, Jan. 12.

Rosewood Ranch Receives CMNH Grant for Children’s Therapy Program

We have decided to extend StoryWalk® through December 23, during Ellinwood School/Community Library hours. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. The "walk" begins at the library with the introductory to "The Night Before Christmas" by Clement Clarke Moore, and continues through several businesses on Main Street, and ends back at the library. EHS Winter band concert

EHS Don Regehr Band Instructor presented work of 6th thru 12th grades at recent 2014 winter concert held in the EHS auditorium. A few of the lively tunes included Little Drummer Dudes played by 6h grade, Michael Story Anthem of An Era synchronized by the Middle School, the rapping on chairs with drumsticks was titled Chair Jam played by the Middle School Explore Music group and the High School students harmonized a crowd pleasing melody to finalize the evening known as Goin' Home for the Holidays. Ron Cole visits Hoisigton High School

When you walked into HHS on Friday, Nov. 21, you would have wondered who turned the music up so loud. It was Ron Cole performing for the Central Plains Middle School, Otis Bison Middle School and Hoisington Middle School at 9 a.m. and then a repeat performance at 10 a.m. for the Central Plains FCCLA and KAYS organizations, Hoisington High School and the Otis Bison High school.

Register now for Christmas Entertaining Meals program

The Great Bend Recreation Commission will host a Christmas Entertaining Meals program on Wednesday, December 17th, at the Great Bend Recreation Center located at 1214 Stone Street. Get into the Christmas spirit with a wonderful meal and the sounds from the Great Bend Middle School Women In Harmony group. The meal will begin at noon and entertainment will be held from 12:15-12:45 p.m. followed by time to visit with your friends before you head back to work at 1 p.m. The lunch will be catered by Delgados.
