Two vehicle injury accident

According to the Barton County Sheriff's Office just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday sheriff's deputies responded to a reported injury accident located in the 300 block of Northeast 10 Ave. just north of 30 Road.

Motor vehicle deaths increase by largest percent in 50 years

Preliminary estimates from the National Safety Council indicate motor vehicle deaths were 8 percent higher in 2015 than they were in 2014 - the largest year-over-year percent increase in 50 years. The Council estimates 38,300 people were killed on U.S. roads, and 4.4 million were seriously injured with injuries requiring medical attention, meaning 2015 likely was the deadliest driving year since 2008.

Health insurance enrollment numbers higher overall in Kansas

According to the Health Insurance Marketplace, more than 12.7 million Americans signed up for a health insurance plan for 2016 during the marketplace's open enrollment period that ended Jan. 31. This number includes more than 4 million new enrollees.

HOISINGTON - Wednesday morning, some of Hoisington's most promising young entrepreneurs competed in the first ever Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. The contest, sponsored by NetWork Kansas and Hoisington's E-Community, provided a chance to win a $500 scholarship and a chance to go on to the state level Youth Challenge.
