Dueling Pianos fundraiser slated for Argonne All-Stars

A dinner and dueling pianos show, "Fun Pianos 176 Keys," will take place Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Great Bend Events Center. The fundraiser for the Argonne Rebels All-Star Cheer Team will start with a social hour at 7 p.m., followed by a fried chicken dinner catered by Wheatland Cafe at 7:30 p.m. The two-hour show will begin around 8:30 p.m. and is recommended for mature audiences.

GBHS Jazz Band offers Popcorn & Pop concert

Music fans are invited to join the Great Bend High School Panther Jazz Band for Pop and Popcorn at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct 4 for the annual Fall Concert. The concert will be in the relaxed atmosphere of the GBHS Jack Kilby Commons Area where audience members can enjoy munching on popcorn, and sipping a pop or bottled water.

County receives insurance dividend

Cody Smith of the Alliance Insurance Group Monday morning presented a $11,978.36 dividend return check as a result of the county's participation in the Kansas County Safety Dividend Group with EMC Insurance Companies, making the six-year dividend total over $136,000.
