Family Crisis Center to observe National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

On Oct. 22, the Great Bend-based Family Crisis Center Inc. hopes to turn the community purple. The campaign, in which residents are encouraged to wear all things purple, is designed to call attention to domestic violence.

Last hazardous waste collection dates coming

In all, Barton County Solid Waste Director Phil Hathcock said 52 participants dropped off 258 pounds of household hazardous waste at the Sept. 19 collection at the Barton County Landfill. In addition, 3,400 pounds of E-Waste was recycled during the reporting period.
