The Great Bend Middle School Band Department will be having their fall concert on Nov. 3. The 7th Grade Band and the GBMS Jazz Ensemble will perform at 6:45 p.m. in the middle school gym and the 8th grade band and the GBMS Jazz Ensemble will perform at 8:15 p.m. Both concerts are free and will feature a wide variety of concert and popular band selections. The bands are directed by Kurtis Koch assisted by Mark DeWald.

The Kiwanis Halloween Kids Parade will begin 11 a.m. Saturday at the Band Shell on the courthouse square, not at the corner of 18th and Main as previously reported. Awards for best costumes awarded at the band stand after the parade. Pictures will be provided by Walgreen's taken from 1-4 p.m. at Walgreen's, not at the square.

This three to four hour class will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will certify participants for two years. The training will take place at the Ellinwood Fire Station located at 209 W. 1st in Ellinwood.
