The Kory Brunson Band presented a concert to benefit Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer Foundation on Friday evening, March 7 at the Crest Theater. Brunson, a native of Great Bend now living in Thornton, Colo., made the trip home to donate his time and talent to the local organization that provides assistance to families in Barton County living with cancer.

Congressman Tim Huelskamp announced today that entries are now being accepted for the 2014 Congressional Arts Competition. All high school students in the First Congressional District are encouraged to participate in this competition. The winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.
Barton Community College's Child Education Fair themed "Picnic Pleasin' Pickins," is an all-day event Saturday, April 12 in the Student Union.
