Garden Club holding AHF quilt drawing

The Ellinwood Garden Club will hold a quilt drawing at the conclusion of this year's After Harvest Festival Parade. Funds raised by the drawing will go toward the maintenance of the Wheat Shocks and Main Street plant boxes, for the beautification of Ellinwood.

It’s fair time!

I have always thought of the county fair as a great place to meet up with neighbors and friends. It has also been the place for a little friendly competition to see who has the best woodworking project and who made the best cherry pie or the best quilt. I remember as a younger 4-H member waiting for the moment the building doors were opened and we were allowed in to see what ribbon we had earned. We did not get to visit with the judge as our young people do today.

4-H Emerald Circle Banquet

The Emerald Circle Banquet is the premier state 4-H event held in Manhattan to honor state 4-H project winners and state 4-H Scholarship winners. Barton County was honored to have a state project winner in Dairy and three scholarship winners.
