Bungalow Family and Community Education Unit meeting

Bungalow Family and Community Education Unit held its fall salad luncheon on Nov. 12 at the Foundry Methodist Church with Jeanine Laughlin and Margie Nairn as hostesses. Guests were Bill Laughlin, Joe Boley and Sue Ware.

Great Bend City Slickers 4-H club

The Great Bend City Slickers 4-H club met on Nov 8th. Roll call was taken by giving a favorite movie. Seven members, two leaders, five parents and four guests were present. Nicole Rzhia sang a song. The club will be going Christmas caroling for the December meeting. It was voted to by poinsettias for the Senior Center. Bernie Unruh gave a program on proper procedures. The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 13 at Cherry Village. Members are asked to bring a gift for the nuns.

League of Women Voters meeting

League of Women Voters of Great Bend will hold their monthly meeting at noon on Tuesday, at Montana Mike's in the north room. Lunch will be from the menu and can be from their "quick serve" menu.

Bungalow FCE

Derinda Bussman, Community Service Leader for Bungalow Family and Community Education Unit, reported on the group's work during the past year. "Our shoppers for the Food Bank do a great job of finding bargains and making use of manufacturers's coupons," she said. Local food markets provide much needed foods to the Food Bank.

The Great Bend City Slickers 4-H Club met on Oct. 11. Six members, on leader, five parents and one guest were present. Roll call was answered by a favorite color. Election of officers results were announced: President, Caleb Maneth; Vice President, Joshua Crawford; Secretary, Nicole Likes; Treasurer, Kyle Rziha; Reporter, Audrey Likes; Song Leader, Analah Crawford and Rziha; Recreation, Schecks; Parliamentarian, Stephen Crawford; VIP Charles and Inga Atkinson. The Pilot Club of Great Bend recently brought to the area schools an award-winning program designed to educate the public on avoiding brain injuries.

Busy Buzzer 4-H Club

The Busy Buzzer 4-H club had their installation of new officers meeting on Oct. 21. It was held at the Long's Pumpkin Patch. After the meeting the club enjoyed gourd launching and picking out pumpkins from the pumpkin field. Preceptor Pi’s Reception Sisters raise funds for service projects

Preceptor Pi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi collected and delivered a variety of foods to the Barton County Food Bank in February and March. This month, the chapter will give a $110 donation to Prairie Godmothers.
