Pilot Cllub Sweetheart Award

The 2010 PIF Sweetheart Award was presented to Debbie Jones (on the right) by Norma Ward, local PIF Representative. Debbie was honored for her outstanding service on the fund raising and projects committees. She has hosted the annual geranium sale pickup at her home for the last two years and also held a club garage sale. Currently, she is co-chair of the Projects Committee. TLC Twisters

TLC Twister's 4-H Club met on Sept. 16. The Pledge of Allegiance and 4-H pledge was led by Calista. Molly led us in the song "Camp Grenada". Roll call was your favorite silly band. Golden Belt Woodcarvers

The Golden Belt Wood Carvers will host their annual "Carve-n-Show" event from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 23 and from noon to 4 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Street. The public is invited to attend. Local wood carvers will be displaying completed wood carvings and will be working on projects in progress.

Hoisington Jets 4-H

The Hoisington Jets 4-H Club met Sept. 27th. The club had a potluck dinner before the meeting. The meeting was called to order by Vice-president Drew Reisner. Kansas Lions Club State Council to meet

Leaders of the 315 Kansas Lions and Leo Clubs from all parts of the state will be meeting in McPherson Nov. 5-7 for the Fall Assembly of the Kansas Lions Council of Governors. A major order of business will be the assembly of the State Council of Governors for the second of their required meetings during the year to establish and evaluate policy that will guide Kansas Lions in community service to their hometown communities.
