Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 27, Great Bend will hold their annual "Forget-Me-Not" fundraiser, on July 4th at local businesses in Great Bend. The Soroptimists of Great Bend recently celebrated the most successful garden tour fundraiser in their club history. The Parnassus Club met May 10 at the Classic Inn, with seven members present for the annual Spring Luncheon. Following a very yummy and enjoyable meal, the business meeting was held. Sharon Jones reported on the Night at the Opera in Salina which was enjoyed by Nancy Converse, Betty Erickson, Chari Miller and Sharon. They enjoyed an Italian dinner at Martinelli's across the street from the Stiefel Theatre where the Opera evening was presented.
The Barton County Association of Retired School Personnel met at 11:30 a.m. on May 6 at the Club at Stone Ridge. President Rose Kelly opened the meeting with the flag salute and Becky Dudrey gave the invocation. Forty-two members and one guest, Joe Boley, were present. Birthdays for March, April and May were recognized.
