The Central Kansas Photography Club welcomes Photographer Harland Schuster for this month's program. His program is on the 8 Wonders of Kansas. Harland is a freelance photographer who has traveled and photographed Kansas extensively. His works have appeared in regional and national Publications, including several photographs in a recent issue of KANSAS Magazine. The Central Kansas Photography club meets at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Petr's Frame House, 2009 16th Street in Great Bend. Guests are welcome to attend the meeting to hear and see Mr. Schuster's presentation.
Progress Club met Feb. 2, at the home of Sharon Mauler with Darlene Boley and Sharon Jones as co-hostesses. Sixteen members attended. Judy Fox presided and opened the meeting with a prayer. It was noted that Mary Ann Boyle has acepted our invitation to join and will attend the March meeting. A nominating committee will be appointed and announced at the March meeting.

Boy Scout Troop #184 of Great Bend is pleased to announce the advancement of Phane Pedigo to the rank of Eagle Scout on Aug. 11th. Phane's project was for the benefit of the Great Bend Humane Society. Phane held a family benefit garage sale to raise money for his project last year. Over the course of several months, he used his funds to purchase and assemble 15 elevated dog beds, plant seven trees in the visitation area, pour a concrete slab for a picnic table, design and build a waste station, and create five oversized pet portraits for the ...
The Christmas Social for Preceptor Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi was a potato bar on Dec. 16, at the home of Janis Link. Each member brought one dozen cookies for a cookie exchange. Members also brought their donations to Kans for Kids and the Makinna Ann Hope Foundation.
