Barton County Association of Retired School Personnel
The Barton County Association of Retired School Personnel will meet at 11:30 a.m. on December 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the Club at StoneRidge, 24th and Frey in Great Bend. President Rose Kelly will be in charge of the meeting. Installation of officers for 2011 will be held. Members are asked to continue to record their hours of volunteer service.
Parnassus Club
The Parnassus Club met Nov. 16 at the home of Sharon Jones with eight members present.
Garden Club
"Tulip Mania" was the craze that gripped the Dutch in the early 1600's when travelers from the Middle East brought the cup-shaped flowers to the Netherlands. The tulips of that time were so rare to the people of the Netherlands that prices for the rare bulbs reached unrealistic highs, stated Alice Young, Memorial Garden Chairman for the Great Bend Garden Club.

Preceptor Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi
Preceptor Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Nov. 16 at Club 1 for a program hosted by Janis Link. The members were given a tour and toning session at the club. The chapter then met at the home of Linda Jerke. President Brenda Black led the meeting.
Zeta Gamma Sorority to hold Bake Sale
Zeta Gamma Sorority met Nov. 9th at the home of Janette Shirer, with 10 members in attendance. Nancy Farmer was welcomed back as a returning member.

Vice District Governor to meet with Otis Lions
Vice District Governor Ralph Rodgers will conduct an Official Club Visitation to the Otis Lions Club at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Senior Center in Otis. All club members are encouraged to be present for this important meeting with the VDG and other District Lion Leaders.
Delta Tau Sorority
Tuesday evening, members of the Delta Tau Sorority gathered for their annual decorating of the Historical Society Museum for Christmas. The selected theme this year is: "Every time a bell rings, and angel gets his wings." The museum is adorned with gold and greenery, and features a variety of festive angels and bells. Christmas is alive at the museum, and all are encouraged to visit this Holiday season and experience it's beauty.

League of Women Voters
League of Women Voters of Great Bend will hold their monthly meeting at noon on Nov. 9 at The Club at Stone Ridge. Lunch will be from the menu. The program will be provided by a representative of the city administrator's office. who will be speaking on the effect of the TARP stimulus money to the city's programs. The luncheon is informal and time will be allowed for discussion from the floor. The public is invited to attend the meeting and ask questions.

Holiday shopping event supports Girl Scouts in 80 counties
Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland will host the 44th Annual See 'N Sell Arts and Crafts show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Salina Bicentennial Center. The first 100 through the door will receive a free goody bag filled with lots of great items and See 'N Sell bucks to use while shopping.

Golden Sheaf Chapter #226, Order of the Eastern Star, Great Bend, hosted an official visit of the Worthy Grand Matron of Kansas, Dolores (Dee) Smith, and Worthy Grand Patron, Larry Swain, also of the Grand Chapter of Kansas, on May 20, at the Masonic Hall in Hoisington.
