The Daughters of Isabella Immaculate Conception Circle #744 met in September where 50 year pins were given to two members and Past Regents were recognized.
API will meet on Nov. 9 at Stone Ridge Golf Club. The evenings program will be presented by Nathan Holland with Baker Hughes/Centrilift Division. The topic will be: "Fluid Movers – ESP, PCP and Hpumps in the Oil & Gas industry". The evening consists of corporate sponsored social hour at 6:30 p.m., a Cheeseburger Steak dinner, followed by the program. There's a $10 fee at the door and the public is invited to attend.
The 2011 South Central Regional Conference was held in Great Bend, Oct. 21-23. Presidents for the Region are Bill Nelson of Norton, and Ellen White of California, Mo. Grand Representatives present were: Grand Madam President Gwen Stallkamp from Albert Lea, Minn., Grand Aerie Inside Guard James Burnham of St. Marys, Ga., and Grand Auxiliary Trustee Judy Johnson of Lawrence, Auxiliary.
The new 2011 President of Rotary asked members for a worthwhile local project and got a suggestion from Dr. Roger Marshall to plant a windbreak at the new sports complex.
Darlene Mathers was elected the Pilot Clubs PIF (Pilot International Foundation) Sweetheart for the year 2011-2012.

The Otis Lions Club will hold a benefit Pancake Supper from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Otis Bison High school gymnasium. Cost per person is a free will donation. The 2nd Annual Pancake Races will start at 7:30 p.m. All proceeds will be used for Otis Beautification and youth projects in the local area with funds matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
Parnassus Club met on April 8, at Darline Boley's residence
On April 12, seven 4H'ers from Barton County, traveled to Alma to compete in the 2014 State 4H Air Rifle Match. There they competed against the best 4H air rifle shooters in the state. To qualify for the match, the 4H'ers had to shoot 400, or higher, out of a possible 600 points, at a qualifying match earlier in the year.
The Progress Club met on April 7, at the home of Sharon Mauler with Donna Oliver as co-hostess. Seventeen members were in attendance. Kim Roach of Great Bend Floral presented the program, "Pretty Posies." Kim has been in the floral business for several years and spoke about the recent innovations in her work. She demonstrated new ideas in making corsages and assembled two lovely floral arrangements.
