Do you like to make things grow? Do you love fresh vegetables? Does it make you feel good to know you helped another person? If your answers to all these questions are yes we need you! Gardeners of the Hoisington Community Garden will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 28th in the back room of the Pizza Hut. Come and join us as we talk about how we will get started with the garden next spring. Hospital retirement celebratiom for Mr. Chuck Waters

Mr. Waters has served as President and CEO of Clara Barton Hospital for the last four years and is retiring after 38 years in Hospital Administration. A special reception is being held in his honor from 2 to 4 p.m. today in the Turnbull Safe Room at Clara Barton Hospital.

HHS holding coat and glove drive

The Hoisington High School Chapter of National Honor Society is holding a coat and glove drive now through Dec. 15. If you have coats/gloves that you no longer need and you would like to see them go to a new home, drop them off at the following locations: Hoisington High School, Hoisington Dairy Queen, Hoisington Chamber of Commerce and Hoisington Activity Center Office.

Hoisington to hold tree lighting

The Hoisington Annual Christmas Lighting is scheduled for Friday after Thanksgiving 5:30 p.m. at the Hoisington Chamber of Commerce 123 N. Main. Swinging stars to host dance

The Hoisington Swinging Stars will host a square dance on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m at the Hoisington City Auditorium, 1st and Walnut. Caller will be Peggy Anschutz from Gorham. Swinging Star members are asked to meet at 7 p.m. at Country Place Living, 259 W 6th, for a demonstration for the residents.

Holiday Bazaar to be held

A Holiday Bazaar will be held Nov. 20 in Hoisington at the city auditorium, East 1st & Walnut, sponsored by the Church Women of Hoisington. It is open to the public; there will be a quarter entrance fee, and children are free. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. To reserve a space or for more information, contact Rhonda Templing, 785-483-9402. Make plans to come out and see all the different booths, and get your Christmas shopping done early.
