Hoisington High School is having a "pink out" at Tuesday's home basketball game with Larned. Show your support for the fight against breast cancer by wearing pink to the game on Tuesday, Feb. 21st.
The Claflin ICC parish CYO is hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament beginning at 10 a.m on Feb. 25 at Central Plains High School in Claflin. The entry fee is $40 per team. There will be an 18 and over and a 17 and younger division. Both divisions will consist of a separate male and female bracket. Concessions will be available. Admission to watch is $1. On Sunday, Feb. 5, Hannah Wilborn (sophomore) traveled to Fort Hays State University to participate in the District Piano Festival. Hannah received a I (one) rating on her piano solo. On Saturday, Feb. 18, Hannah will be traveling to Tabor College to perform at the State Piano Festival.
The Hoisington Swinging Stars will host a square dance at 7:30 p.m. on Feb 14 at the Hoisington City auditorium. Caller will be Tammy Gough of Wichita.
The Ellinwood After Prom Parents will be selling bierocks at the Ellinwood Winter Homecoming basketball games beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. If you placed an order for bierocks and/or cinnamon rolls you will need to pick up your order no later than 6 p.m. in the Commons Area. Come support our group in providing a fun and safe after prom for our students.
The Hoisington Elementary School Carnival sponsored by HEPA will be held on Feb. 11 at the Activity Center. Supper and concessions will begin be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Carnival doors will be open from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with raffle drawings starting at 7:45 p.m.
HOISINGTON -The Hoisington Ministerial Association is sponsoring its first annual soup tasting event, "Taste of Hoisington". All proceeds go to help the needy of the community with rent, utilities etc. It is this Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Hoisington Activity Center, 1200 Susank Road. They will serve from 11 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. Cost is $6 for those 11 and up; children 10 and under free.
An appearance by guest speaker Kris Munsch Wednesday at St. Rose Ambulatory in Great Bend will feature a birdhouse-building project for people who are interested. It costs $30 to build a cardboard birdhouse and $40 for a wooden birdhouse, but people must bring their own hammer. Other building materials are provided.

KOC to hold tournament
Trash pickup for the City of Ellinwood for the week of December 26th will be Monday and Wednesday on the east side and Tuesday and Thursday on the west side due to the New Year's Day holiday.
