A crack seal project on U.S. 56 is scheduled to Wednesday, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Crews will be working on about eight miles of U.S. 56 from the east city limits of Great Bend east to the west city limits of Ellinwood. Traffic will be controlled by a pilot car and flagging operation.

Mission Construction Co. Inc. of St. Paul is the primary contractor for the $69,487 project. Mission has 20 working days to complete the project.

The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs and “Give ’Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. Persons with questions about this road work or other KDOT projects may call South Central Kansas Public Affairs Manager Deb Gruver at 620-663-3361.
