Man on bike nabbed for drug charges, littering

A Great Bend Police Officer spotted a suspicious man on a bicycle littering early Saturday morning and this led to the arrest of Charles Bowers on drug charges, the GBPD reported.

According to a GBPD news release, at just after midnight Saturday, an officer observed a subject identified as Bowers, 25, riding a bicycle in the 3000 block of 20th Street with no lights. The officer also saw Bowers littering. 

During the stop, the officer reportedly located illegal narcotics. He arrested Bowers for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, criminal littering and no bicycle lights.  

Bowers was booked into the Barton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond with charges pending in Barton County District Court.
