KHP works injury crashes

A Lyons man was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Saturday, May 5, at 8:20 p.m. in Rice County.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports Glenn M. Miller, 53, was taken to Hutchinson Hospital after the 2007 Chevrolet truck he was driving went off 22nd Road approximately 6 miles east of Lyons. The northbound truck crossed the center line and entered the west ditch, striking a field entrance before coming to a stop. He was not wearing a seat belt, KHP reports.
Two vehicles collided at 9:22 a.m. Sunday in Edwards County, 2 miles east of Offerle on U.S. 50. A westbound Ford F-350 driven by Francisco R. Sanchez of El Paso, Texas, and an eastbound Freightliner semi driven by Robert R. Hilscher of Alberta, Canada, met at the center line where contact was made. Sanchez sustained possible injury and was taken to the Edwards County Hospital.

May 2 crashes
A Larned woman was taken to Hutchinson Regional Hospital last Wednesday, May 2, after two vehicles collided in a construction zone on U.S. 50, 2 miles west of Sylvia in Reno County.
Jean L. Cole, 66, was driving an eastbound 2013 Ford passenger car in the construction zone at 11:50 a.m. When the pilot car slowed down, the car driven by Cole rear-ended an International semi driven by Lashawn Linnwood Tony Spiller of Manhattan. The semi driver was not injured.
Another crash was reported at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 50, 2 miles west of Offerle in Ford County. Frank Nall, 88, of Offerle, was taken to Western Plains Medical Center in Dodge City after the 2008 Chrysler he was driving went left of center and struck the fourth axel of a trailer on a Volvo semi driven by Almir Pracic of Sterling Heights, Mich. KHP reports Nall could not see due to the weather. The semi driver was not injured.
All of the drivers with the exception of Miller were wearing safety restraints.
