POSTED August 12, 2017 8:36 p.m.

Brad Witherspoon has been named the new men’s basketball assistant at Barton replacing Dennan Morrow. Morrow left for an assistant job at Daytona Beach.
Witherspoon comes to Barton from Doane College where he was an assistant last season.
“We’re excited to have Coach Witherspoon on staff,” Barton head coach Craig Fletchall said. “He has great pedigree learning under Bill Self. Not only that he is a terrific person as well.”
Prior to his time at Doane, Witherspoon spent three years at John Wood Community College.
Witherspoon also spent time at Culver-Stockton where he began his coaching career in 2010.
Witherspoon was a member of the 2008 Kansas Jayhawk National Championship team. The walkon from Humboldt graduated from KU in 2009 then spent time in the KU athletic department as well as with the Oklahoma City Thunder in their front office.
