Watkins Calcara, Chtd. new associate

Watkins Calcara, Chtd., a Great Bend law firm, announces the recent employment of Travis Ternes as an associate of the firm. Watkins Calcara Chtd. is recognized as one of America’s “Best Law Firms” by U.S. News & World Report and is the largest law firm based in the western half of the state. It has ten lawyers associated with the firm and offers a broad range of legal services focused on business, financial, agricultural and utility law, estate planning, probate and Medicaid law. Its litigation group is recognized throughout the state.
Travis earned Bachelor’s degrees in Criminology and Communications from Kansas State University in 2011. After graduating from Kansas State, he worked for J. Fred Hambright Inc. as a landman. In 2013, Travis chose to attend Washburn University School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctorate degree in May, 2016. Travis passed the Kansas bar examination last July and has been admitted to practice before both the State and Federal Courts in Kansas.
While at Washburn, Travis was an active member of Washburn Law Journal and several organizations. Travis received certificates in business and transactional law, oil and gas law, and natural resources law.
