Kansas Farm Bureau leadership program accepting applications

POSTED September 8, 2017 1:08 p.m.

MANHATTAN — Kansas Farm Bureau is now accepting applications for the fourth class of Leadership KFB through Oct. 1. The year-long program focuses on creating influential thought leaders who will engage, create change and look for solutions, not only in agriculture, but also in counties and communities across the state.
“It is invaluable to have this program as part of my resources as I begin my own journey into the scene of agriculture,” Jacquelyne Leffler from Lyon County, class three participant, said. “The program gave me a broader view of all the working parts of agriculture that I never thought about on a daily basis.”
Six learning sessions are held throughout the state, including a capstone in Washington, D.C. The program helps participants gain understanding about their personal leadership style, as well as different approaches to problem-solving and conflict resolution. Training in communication skills ranging from public speaking to traditional and social media are also included along with opportunities to engage with leaders on important issues.
Applications and more information about the program can be found on the Kansas Farm Bureau website at www.kfb.org/leadershipkfb.
