Pawnee Heights plans Academic Fair

POSTED April 14, 2017 9:30 a.m.

ROZEL — The Pawnee Heights schools K-12 in Rozel’s annual Academic Fair and Open House will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19. Visitors can visit all the classrooms, see a magic show, be entertained by reading of short stories and poems created by the students, enjoy a high school music concert, and see lots of active and interactive displays in the gym.
This yearly event was first organized by Jeana Parker, the school’s science teacher, who has put in tons of effort every year to keep it going. The evening will start with everyone invited to tour the building, visit any classrooms or just stay in the gym and look at all the displays. There will be plenty of signs up to direct visitors to anywhere they would like to go.
The first special event will be the Science Magic Show at 5:45 in the shop building. From 6:15-6:45 students from Mrs. Durler’s sixth-hour College Comp II class will read poetry written to enter the Poetry Unites Kansas Essay Contest, as well as some short stories from different animals’ points of view from the senior English and Comp classes both here and at La Crosse.
At 7 p.m. the 7-12 choir will perform and the audience will be welcomed to sit up by the stage or continue to quietly check out the exhibits.
“All of the students have something to share, so we hope many of our supporters and those interested in what PHS does with their small, active school will have an enlightening, fun experience on Wednesday, April 19th,” Parker said.
