Using the theme “Education Sets the Stage” the USD 428 Education Foundation has planned a full evening of entertainment and food for its annual dinner and auction.
Tickets are on sale for the event set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Great Bend Events Center. They can be purchased for $50 each from Kelsey Menges at the USD 428 District Office, by calling 620-793-1500.
The walking dinner will be similar to last year, according to MelEesa Stueder, Education Foundation board member. Attendees are invited to sample foods representing various places around the world from booths manned by local caterers.
“People had so much fun last year,” Stueder said. “Everyone was able to get up and mingle while they were sampling all of the great food offered.”
Entrees available this year will be Ribs by A & G Catering, Shrimp Gumbo by Lyles Lashley and Mike Minton, Sushi Rolls by Chosen Wok, Honey Pecan Crusted Chicken by Great Western Dining. Flavored Celebrations will host a Mashed Potato Bar. Appetizers will be served by Great Bend Coffee and Papa Murphys. A cheese and fruit table will be available. Lana’s Catering will serve Mini Trifles for dessert.
The night will progress with musical entertainment by the Great Bend High School Jazz Band, followed by a silent and live auction. The evening will conclude by 8:30 p.m.
Several notable live auction items are a RV trip to a Panther event, a cheerleading themed birthday party by the Great Bend High School Cheerleaders, a customized Panther fire pit, reserved seating for the 2018 GBHS graduation, baked items from high school students, and jewelry designed by high school art students.
