BCC budget hearing is Tuesday

Trustees consider better software for managing payments

POSTED August 10, 2018 5:20 p.m.

The Barton Community College Board of Trustees will hold a public budget hearing at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, in room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building. To allow time for latecomers, the administration recommends that the hearing remain open until 4:30 p.m. but to commence with the board’s monthly study session if there are no public comments.
The agenda for the study session includes track and field recognition, accreditation update, a report on HERO programming and information about TouchNet management software. The University of Kansas and several other Kansas Colleges currently use TouchNet, which consolidates, automates, integrates and secures campus-wide payments and business transactions. Vice President Mark Dean’s presentation will include issues the college currently has and highlights and costs of the TouchNet system.
