Larry Gene Grow 1952 - 2009

HUDSON — Larry Gene Grow, 57, passed away Oct. 25 at St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver, Colo., as a result of a traffic accident. He was born April 1, 1952, at St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend, the son of Marion Asa and Hazel Inez (Kimber) Grow. Gene was a graduate of St. John High School and Fort Hays State University. In his earlier years Gene helped his parents and brother with custom harvesting, and also worked in the oilfield for Eddie Stremel. Gene was an over-the-road truck driver for many years, and really enjoyed hunting and camping. Gene had lived in rural Hudson recently, moving from the Boulder, Colo., area. He had planned to eventually move to Montana.

Survivors include two daughters, Angie Grow Langen and Marissa Woodmansee, both of Great Bend; three grandchildren; one brother, Keith M. Grow, Hudson; four sisters, Sharon Smiley of Texhoma, Okla., Marilyn Fulton of Junction City, Rita Jones and husband Terry, and Linda Elliott, all of Wichita; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him. Gene was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service for Larry Gene Grow will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. The Rev. Mike Joiner and the Rev. Martin Hunt will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends that evening, and from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday, all at the funeral home.
