Martha I. Allison 1931 - 2009

Martha I. Allison, 78, of Great Bend, died Nov. 5 at Great Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend. She was born June 23, 1931, at Girard, the daughter of John Frederick and Ruth Naomi Telck Morris. Martha married William Gene Allison on June 23, 1972, at Alva, Okla. He passed away on Nov. 7, 1994. She was a ward secretary for Central Kansas Medical Center for 39 years, and also a secretary for the Dominican Sisters for 12 years in Great Bend. Martha was a resident of Great Bend for most of her life.

Mrs. Allison was a member of First Bible Baptist Church, Great Bend.

Martha was really a godly lady who really loved the Lord, going to church, teaching Sunday school, being with family and helping other people.

Survivors include three sons, James Ridge and wife Rhonda of Mooreland, Okla., Billy Ridge and wife Cheryl of Scott, La., and W. John Allison and wife Kelly of Great Bend; two daughters, Francis Jez and husband Jess of Galveston, Texas, and Mona Knight and husband Scott of Ponca City, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by one son, Gerald W. Ridge.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Bible Baptist Church, Great Bend, with Pastor Kevin Franklin officiant. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the famly receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home.
