Esther (Luft) Pedigo 1912 - 2009

Esther (Luft) Pedigo, 97, died Nov. 8 at Bickford Cottage in Ames, Iowa. Born May 31, 1912, in Otis, she was the daughter of Henry and Lydia (Moore) Luft. She attended grade school in Great Bend. On May 29, 1932, she married Bruce Preston Pedigo in Great Bend, where they lived until moving to Ames in December 1997. She was employed by St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Pedigo was a member of First Methodist Church in Great Bend and in Ames, Iowa.

Survivors include her son, Larry (Lois) Pedigo of Ames, Iowa; a grandson, Bruce Pedigo and his three children, of Chicago, Ill.; and a granddaughter, Brenda Cloyd, and her two children, of Ames, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 18, 1999; a sister, Alice Green; and brothers Milton, Herman and Victor Luft.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Great Bend Cemetery, with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. today, with family receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to www. bryantfh.net.
