Richard Milsap 1916 - 2009
November 10, 2009 @ 1:06pmRAYMOND — Richard Milsap, 93, died Nov. 6 in Grove, Okla. Born Sept. 30, 1916, in Greenland, Ark., he was the son of Art Barry and Ollie Paschal Milsap. A resident of Grove since 2008, formerly of Farmington, Ark., and Raymond, he was retired from the oil industry. On Nov. 27, 1937, he married Gwendolyn M. Bennett in McPherson. She died Sept. 24, 1986. On June 10, 1988, he married Laura “Happy” Bradshaw-Crider. She died in 2007.
Mr. Milsap was a member of the First Christian Church in Fayetteville, Ark., and Masonic Lodge No. 192 in Lyons.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Milsap of Grove, Okla., Barry Milsap of Wichita and Ronald Milsap of Denver, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Milsap; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Raymond Hilltop Cemetery with Pastor Jackie Allen officiating. Friends may visit from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Raymond Hilltop Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
