Anna Catherine Ochs 1926 - 2009

HOISINGTON — Anna Catherine Ochs, 83, passed away Nov. 21 at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson. She was born in Amherst, Ohio, on Jan. 23, 1926, to Leroy Richard Martin and Karoline (Paulson ) Martin. Her family moved to Victoria and then to Hays. She married Dan Ochs Jr. on Dec. 31, 1945. She was a homemaker and lived north of Otis until moving to Hoisington in 1997.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; two sons, Roy and wife Juli of Dodge City, and Michael and wife Stella of Great Bend; two sisters, Myrna Elizabeth Lochard and husband George of Gladstone, Mich., and Anna Elizabeth (Betty) Ostrom and husband Ken of Hays; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Alfred, one sister Geraldine and one grandson Aaron.

Catherine was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in May of 1955 and had been associated with the Great Bend Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1956, until the time of her death.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 3205 Williams in Great Bend. Cremation has already taken place. Donations can be made to the Great Bend Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
