Wilkins

Sara Gales and Stephen Wilkins, both of Kansas City, Mo., were united in marriage on Nov. 21 in a double-ring ceremony officiated by Sean Murphy in Riverside, Mo. Parents of the bride are Kelvin Gales, of Kansas City (formerly of Belpre), and Roberta Gales, of Riverside, Mo., (formerly of Hoisington). Grandmother of the groom is Roberta Miller, of Independence, Mo.

The bride wore a strapless, dropped waist, A-line gown, lightly embroidered with pink and blue flowers on the bodice and skirt, with a chapel train. She carried an elegant hand-tied bouquet of white Gerber daisies, Tibet roses and button mums accented with dark blue delphinium and misty blue. Silver ribbon was laced throughout the bouquet and it was finished off with large green leaves and a simple silver bow.

Maid of honor was Heather Downing. Bridesmaids were Kayla Gales and Rebecca Anlage, all of Kansas City.

Best man was Richard Mays Jr. Groomsmen were Steven Brown and Seth Burch, all of Kansas City.

The bride graduated from Winnetonka High School and the Midwest Institute of Natural Healing of Kansas City. She is employed by Sprint in Kansas City.

The groom served three years in the Army in the Presidential Honor Guard. Although he has been honorably discharged from the Army for three years, he has now been recalled by the Army and, on Dec. 6, left for a 2-year deployment.

The bride will reside in Kansas City, Mo.

Chansler

Lisa Jo Jeffrey and Brandon Lee Chansler were united in marriage on Sept. 19 at St. Rose Prince of Peace Church in a double-ring ceremony officiated by Father Floyd McKinney. Parents of the couple are Tully and Bonnie Jeffrey, of Claflin, and Mike and Marilyn Chansler, of Great Bend. Grandparents of the bride are Kenneth and Juanita Jeffrey of Salina. Grandparents of the groom are Paul and Sharon Chansler, of Hutchinson.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a one-piece strapless Maggie Sottero diamond white A-line gown with corset closure. The luminous satin gown featured the glamour of a glistening jeweled bodice. An asymmetrical wrap waist was highlighted with a spray of beading. The back of the gown was accentuated with cascading pleats embellished with jeweled accents. She wore a tiara with crystals accented with pearls and a white veil with crystal edging. She carried a hand-held bouquet of leonidas roses, orange gerber daisies, solidago, carnation lilies, bear and lily grass and fall mums.

Maid of honor was Amber Jeffrey, sister of the bride, of Great Bend. Bridesmaids were Corry Rowe and Jaime Kuhlman of Great Bend, Jenny Urban of Wichita, Stacy Lee of Colby and Michelle Chansler, sister of the groom, of Great Bend.

Best man was Matt Suchy, cousin of the groom, of Great Bend. Groomsmen were Corey Chansler, Jared Chansler, both brothers of the groom, of Great Bend, Nate Towns, Derrick Ferguson and Oliver Snook, all of Great Bend.

Ushers were Cody Schridde, cousin of the groom, and Chancy Schmidt and Sam Trahan, all of Great Bend.

Flower girl was Annabella Lynn and ring bearer was Brady Smith, both cousins of the bride, of Wichita.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Claflin High School. She graduated from Barton Community College in 2002. She is employed by Barton Community College Child Development Center as a lead care provider.

The groom is a 2003 graduate of Great Bend High School. He graduated from Salina Area Tech School in 2005. He is employed by Primus Sterilizer in Great Bend and owns Brandon’s Welding and Fabrication.

After a honeymoon in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, the couple reside in Great Bend.

Basgall

Jennifer Lynne Toms and Jarrod Lee Basgall were united in marriage on Oct. 3 at Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens in Overland Park. The Rev. Karen Angeles officiated the double-ring ceremony during which the groom was wedded with his father’s original wedding ring. Parents of the couple are Steve and Nola Peine, of Oskaloosa, and Ron and Patsy Basgall, of Great Bend.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless, A-line gown with red beaded embroidery embellishing the bodice, scalloped, sweetheart neckline and a chapel train. Her headpiece was a red silk rose adorned with pearl gemstones and miniature feathers. She wore red satin pumps and carried a bouquet of Gerber daisies in various shades of red.

Flower girl was Reese Ruisinger, niece of the groom. She wore a miniature replica of the bridal gown and red shoes. Her headpiece consisted of red and white flowers with red ribbon and she carried a red basket of white rose petals.

Music was provided by harpist Roseanne Gortenburg and a private reception was held at Cedar Creek Estates in Olathe.

The bride is a 1997graduate of Lawrence High School and Johnson County Community College with an Associate of Science degree in dental hygiene. She is employed by Dr. Brandon James in Prairie Village and is also a clinical dental hygiene instructor at Johnson County Community College.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Great Bend High School. He attended Barton County College and graduated from Northwest Kansas Technical College with a degree in Communications Technology. He is employed as a radio frequency engineer with Clearwire Corp. in Kansas City.

The couple resides at Saddle Creek Estates in Basehor.

Koelsch

Ashton Knorr and Josh Koelsch were united in marriage on Sept. 6 in an outdoor ceremony at the Koelsch family farm in Great Bend in a double- ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Dan Pate, assisted by Aaron Koelsch, cousin of the groom. Parents of the couple are Ray and Stacy McNett, of Great Bend, and Garry Knorr, of Salina, and Ron and Debbie Koelsch of Great Bend. The bride is the daughter of the late Bruce Duffeld. Grandparents of the couple are the late Jan Morgan, Junior and Delores Knorr of St. Francis, J.D. and Ramona Duffeld, of Burlington, Colo., June Koelsch of Great Bend and the late Victor Koelsch, and Marge Bauman of Shawnee and the late Vincent Bauman.

Given in marriage by her mother, the bride wore an ivory haltered satin gown with a chiffon overlay. The gown was accented with hints of lace and crystals around the sweetheart neckline and mid-length train, while the black satin ribbon around the empire waist hinted at a modernistic theme. She also wore a sheer finger-tipped-length veil. The bride carried long-stemmed ivory gladiolas.

Maid of honor was Dykota Knorr, sister of the bride. She wore a floor-length black satin gown with ivory accent around the neck and straps. Bridesmaids were Kaitlyn Wagle and Chandis Alexander, both of Great Bend. They wore black satin tea-length gowns accented by an ivory satin sash around the waist. They carried nosegays of ivory roses.

Best man was Chris Calcara of St. Louis, Ill. Groomsmen were Eric Conrady of Montrose, Colo., and Manny Vasquez of Great Bend.

The bride is a 2008 graduate of Great Bend High School and is attending Barton Community College majoring in Accounting. She is employed by Countryside Veterinary in Great Bend.

The groom is a 2003 graduate of Great Bend High School. He is a graduate of Barton Community College and is partnered with his father on the family farm and works construction in the winter.

Lindy Allison Wood and Justin Patrick Precht were united in marriage on Oct. 10 at Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita in a double-ring ceremony officiated by Jason Brokar. Parents of the couple are Larry A. and Joni A. Wood, of Great Bend, and James and Gloria Precht, of Goodland.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Maggie Sottero strapless, diamond white gown with beaded motif through to the side hip and lower back corset and a matching Maggie Sottero veil. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas with green poms and hot pink roses.

Maid of honor was Jessica Folk, of Wichita. Matron of honor was Brandy Orth Zogleman, of Wichita. Bridesmaids were Meghan Parsons and Jessi Simenson, both of Great Bend, Jami Woodyard, of Chanute, Christine Luna, of Wichita, and Jessi Simenson, of Great Bend. They wore strapless tea- length Mori Lee gowns that were teal with black sashes. They carried bouquets that were miniature versions of the bride’s.

Best man was Josh Precht of Lincoln, Neb., and Jerrad Precht, of Hays. Groomsmen were Casey Woods of Emporia, Dan O’Bryan, Greg Moore and Shane Skocny, all of Wichita.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory, strapless A-line lace gown with beading throughout with a chapel- length train and a hair comb with ivory roses, feathers and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white, fuchshia and green hydrandeas and plum calla lilies.

Lisa Ann Hunt and Eric James Tolan were united in marriage on Sept. 5 at the Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel in Bella Vista, Ark. in a double-ring ceremony officiated by Pastor Richard Lindman. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a chiffon beaded embroidery strapless bodice with draped chiffon meeting at the center of the empire and cascaded embroidery on the A-line skirt with a hemline band surrounding the skirt and chapel length train. She wore a white veil with white gemstones and carried a bouquet of white lilies, adorned with crystals.

Maid of honor was Kara Heit. Bridesmaids were Chelsea Jurgensen, Jessica Folk, Erin Baize, and Kaitiyn Evers, sister of the groom.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless, sweetheart neckline ivory dress. The dress was all lace with beading to accent the empire waist. She wore a matching finger-tip veil with a beaded edge. She carried a hand-tied garden bouquet of candy pink hydrangeas, soft pink peonies, spring green viburnum, yellow tulips, yellow begonia blossoms, light blue belladonna delphiniums, blue muscari, and sprigs of green lady’s mantle.

They wore sapphire blue tea-length dresses and carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of Smoky Valley High School, 2003 graduate of Kansas State University, and 2005 graduate of the University of Kansas Medical Center with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. He is employed as a physical therapist at Sports Rehab in Overland Park.

Stukey

Regina Zink and Greg Stukey were united in marriage on Aug. 29 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend in a double- ring ceremony officiated by Father Floyd McKinney. Parents of the couple are David and Sandi Zink and Morris and Joyce Stukey, all of Great Bend. Grandparents of the bride are the late Joe Mattas Jr., the late Verna Mattas, the late Louis Zink and the late Helen Zink. Grandparents of the groom are Ramona Stukey of Great Bend and the late Morris E. Stukey, Rita Cook from Granville, Iowa, and the late Clark Cook.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white gown with silver accents from the designer Mori Lee. The bodice was embroidered with silver threaded floral appliqués and trimmed with a rhinestone edge along the gentle sweetheart neckline. The back of her gown featured a corset-style back and chapel train. Her A-line skirt began with delicate folds of the taffeta fabric and was completed with a few side gathers detailed with the embroidered applique. To complete her look, the dress glistened with seed beads and sequins.

The bride's headpiece was lined with crystal beading and her white veil was elbow-length. She carried a red rose bouquet with rhinestones and wrapped with black and white damask. Also in the bouquet was her grandmother's rosary.

Maid of Honor was Sarah Scheideman and Laurie Zink, sisters of the bride, of Great Bend. Bridesmaids were Andrea Rodger of Victoria, Laura Linsner and Andrea Conaway, both of Great Bend. They wore black tea-length dresses of satin creme with accents of black gathered chiffon at the bodice that tied in the back. They carried bouquets of white roses with silver accents wrapped with black and white damask.

Best man was Brian Stukey, brother of the groom, of Manhattan. Groomsmen were Jeff Hagerman, brother-in-law of the groom, of Olathe, Brian Treaster of Raymond and Brady Charles of Manhattan.

Ushers were Gary Mattas, uncle of the bride, of Lindsborg, Tom Christoph, godfather of the bride, of Overland Park, Chris Stukey, cousin of the groom, of Salina, and Rodney Cook, uncle of the groom, of Murray, Ky.

The flower and ring girls were the couple’s children. The flower girls, Jayden and Jordyn, wore red chiffon dresses with black satin ribbon for accent and carried white rose pomander flowers with black ribbons. The ring girl, Karley, also wore a red chiffon dress with a black ribbon. Her pillow was made out of black and white damask fabric, along with red and black ribbons which held the rings.

Pianist was Jolyne Alexander, cousin of thebride, of Iola. Vocalist was Bryan Pinkall of Manhattan.

The bride is a graduate of Great Bend High School and a 2004 graduate of Barton Community College with an associate of science degree. She is employed as an administrative assistant for Marmie Motors Inc.

The groom is a graduate of Great Bend High School and a 1994 graduate of Manhattan Area Technical College. He is the owner/operator of Stukey Roofing and Construction.

Splitter

Janna Cullop and Matt Splitter were united in marriage on Aug. 1 at the First United Methodist Church in Sterling in a double-ring ceremony officiated by Tom Bronleewe. She carried a hand- tied bouquet of red and white roses, accented with wheat.

Maid of honor was Jacey Cullop, sister of the bride, of Sterling. Bridesmaids were Morgan Nichols of Oakley, Jenny Haas of Wichita and Elizabeth Splitter, sister of the groom, of Milbank, S.D. They wore floor-length satin, trumpet style gowns with fully ruched bodices into a drop waist featuring a sweetheart neckline with spaghetti straps in apple red. They carried hand-tied bouquets of red roses, white roses, orange lilies and sunflowers, accented with purple statice and wheat.

Best men were Cy Rolfs of Waldo and Joe Schultz of Manhattan. Groomsmen were Talmage Cox of Overland Park and Jared Cullop, brother of the bride, of Sterling.

Ushers were Chris Lavergne of Manhattan, Dustin Perkins, cousin of the groom, of Lorraine, and Brandon Zukovich and Nathan Zukovis, both cousins of the bride, from Andover.

Flower girl was Halle Bohl, cousin of the groom, of Ellsworth. She wore an ivory tulle ball gown with spaghetti strap bodice and embroidered lace detail featuring a champagne ribbon at the waist. Ringbearer was Blake Janssen, cousin of the groom, of Amber, Okla.

The groom is a graduate of Quivira Heights High School. He graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in agricultural communications. He is employed by the National Sorghum Producers in Manhattan as the director of member services.

The bride is a graduate of Sterling High School. She will graduate from Kansas State University in December. She is pursing a degree in agricultural communications.

The back of the gown featured a "V" neckline and a chapel length train, A dramatic vine and floral embroidery with crystals decorated the bodice and the train was finished with more of the same detailing. The veil was fingertip length and was ivory with some shimmer. She carried a bouquet of orange dahlias, ivory roses, dark purple calla lilies, and green hydrangeas, wrapped in ivory satin ribbon and her Grandmother's rosary.

The back of her gown featured a corset style back and chapel train. Her a-line skirt began with delicate folds of the taffeta fabric and was complete with a few side gathers detailed with the embroidered appliques. To complete her look, the dress glistened with seed beads and sequins.

The bride's headpiece was lined with crystal beading and her white veil was elbow-length. She carried a red rose bouquet with rhinestones and wrapped with black and white damask. Also in the bouquet was her grandmother's rosary.

They wore black tea length dresses of satin creme with accents of black gathered chiffon at the bodice that tied in the back. They carried bouquets of white roses with silver accents wrapped with black and white damask.

Rachel Lynn Kirmer and Kevin Philip Dolechek were united in marriage on May 30 at Saint Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church in Hays, with Father Daryl Olmstead officiating.

Parents of the couple are Gary and Patricia Kirmer of Claflin, and Gordon and Denise Dolechek of Russell. Grandparents of the couple are Ben and Shirla Kirmer of Claflin, Darlene Branham of Great Bend, the late John Roy and Mace Evans, the late Albert and Katie Dolechek, and the late Donnie Branham.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white, strapless, A-line gown by Alfred Angelo. Her headpiece was lined in crystal beading and her white veil was elbow-length with crystals and pearls along the edges. She carried a bouquet of white roses, calla lilies, star-shaped stephanotis, gardenias,and hydrangeas.

Honor attendant was Megan Kirmer, sister of the bride, of Hays. Attendants were Traci Long Jilka of Hill City and Lisa Nemnich of Hays. They wore black, tea-length strapless dresses accented with a white sash tied in the back. They also carried a bouquet of hydrangeas and calla lilies.

Carol Dawn Grover and Mark Daniel Murphy were united in marriage on May 23 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in a ceremony officiated by Father Floyd McKinney. The bride is the daughter of Karl and Cathy Grover of Great Bend and the groom is the son of Dan and Arloa Murphy of WaKeeney.

The bride wore a simple but elegant gown by Maggie Sottero, with ruching gathering the waistline and bodice to one side. The gown was highlighted at the point of this ruche with beading and pearls. The back of the gown was highlighted with a V-shaped braiding of silk ties accented with more beading. The bride wore a strand of pearls worn by her grandmother and passed down through her girl cousins, so each can wear them on her wedding day. The bride’s bouquet was a gathering of blue anemones, stephanotis, white dogwoods and lily grass.

Maid of honor was Jenny O’Neill of Apple Valley, Minn. Bridesmaids were Jen Oelschlager of Denver, Colo., Jennifer Tormey of Sauk City, Wis., and Amy Zavala of Wichita. They wore black dresses of their own choosing and carried bouquets of blue anemones.

Best man was Darren Murphy, brother of the groom of Wichita. Groomsmen were Brent Oelke of Denver, Colo., Jeremy Lewis of Great Bend, and Ben Grover, brother of the bride. They wore black tuxedos with boutonnieres of dogwood blossoms. The groom wore a white tuxedo with a boutonniere of a blue anemone.

The bride’s gown was distinctive pleated and had a gathered high waist sash accented with a single loop bow with beads, sequins and crystals. Her headpiece was a small crystal tiara and her ivory veil was elbow-length with crystals along the edges. She carried a bouquet of red roses, green cymbidium orchids and red berries.

Maid of honor was Abby Kruse of Colorado Springs, Colo. Bridesmaids were Allie Straub and Arin Straub, both sisters of the bride, of Hays, Jennifer Heier, sister of the groom, of Olathe and Ashley Jacobs of Denver, Colo. They wore red trumpet gowns in a style similar to the bridal gown with red sash. They also carried red roses and green cymbidium orchids with red berries.

Mandy Denese Martin and Jeremy Todd Keil were united in marriage on Oct. 18 at the Meeker Assembly of God Church in Meeker, Okla., in a double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Jerry Jamieson of First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend. Parents of the couple are William and Joan Martin of Meeker, Okla., and Donita Keil and the late Leroy Keil of Great Bend.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an elegant candlelight white, strapless, A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline. The dress featured beautiful silver beadwork on the bodice, as well as down the cathedral-length train. A silver and clear stone brooch adorned the dress at the side where the band of the bodice gathered. She carried a bouquet of solid red roses that were hand-tied with candlelight white satin ribbon. The groom wore a black tuxedo with black satin trim and a black Windsor tie and vest. His groomsmen were complementary in black tuxedos with café-colored Windsor ties and vests.

Matron of honor was Valerie DeAnn Stiver, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Misty Blankenship, who was the honorary matron of honor, Lori Jamieson, Joely Spencer and Michelle Dubois. The bridesmaids wore beautiful floor-length bright ruby red dresses and carried candlelight white clutch purses that had a ruby red ribbon and a rhinestone clasp, in place of the traditional bridesmaids bouquets.

Best man was Cole Wintholz, nephew of the groom. Groomsmen were Brad Wintholz, Michael Peterson, David Martin and Duane Martin.

Ushers were Skyler Stiver and Austin Stiver.

Ring bearer was Avery Jamieson.

Five flower girls included Kylie Wintholz, Aliyah Smith, Kendahl Jamieson, Maleah Blankenship and Abriella Martin. They wore candlelight white cap sleeved, ankle length dresses, with bright ruby red sashes that tied on the side and secured in place with a matching satin rose, tiny tiaras in their hair, and ruby red sparkling slippers.

The wedding day was coordinated by Alise Suttle, friend of the bride.

The bride graduated from high school in 1995 in Meeker, Okla. She then when on to finish two different nursing degrees and is now a registered nurse who is currently working at Hays Medical Center.

The groom graduated from Great Bend High School in 1991. He graduated from Barton Community College. He is employed by Kansas Doors, Inc. in Great Bend as a salesman.

The couple went to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, on their honeymoon and now reside in Great Bend.

The bride’s sister, Dorothy Brinson, from Claflin, represented the bride’s family.

The bride wore an ivory satin ball gown with sweetheart neckline and cathedral train with cut-out lace appliqués. The bodice and sleeves were overlaid with lace and trimmed with pearls and crystals. Pearls trimmed the ivory veil and tiara. She carried a bouquet of starfighter lilies, bi-color and hot pink roses, highlighted by dark blue larkspur and a cascade of tiny white orchids. The bouquet included the headpiece from the wedding veil worn by her mother in 1941.

The bride’s honor attendant was Dr. Debra Ford, of Basehor. Bridesmaids were Patricia Martin and Lorraine Foster, both from Prairie Village. They wore floor-length navy blue dresses and carried bouquets of hot pink roses and white lilies.

Christine Danielle Miller and Kyle Hesed were united in marriage Aug. 9 at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center in Wolf Lake, Ind. Officiant Keith Graber Miller presided over the ceremony. Parents of the couple are Ken and Doris Miller of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Larry and Laurie Hesed of Heartland Farm in Pawnee Rock.

The bride wore a strapless, elegant garden sundress trimmed with lace and ribbon. She had white lilies in her hair and carried a bouquet of zinnias and wildflowers.

The groom’s parents escorted him down the aisle of guests gathered in the meadow beside the lake. The bride’s parents escorted the bride down the aisle and the bride and groom then welcomed everyone.

The piano prelude was played by the bride’s aunt, Laura Jane Steingard. A sextet of college friends sang two songs a cappella. Christy’s sisters, Michelle and Kelly Miller, sang a duet of “For the Beauty of the Earth.” Kyle’s brother Joel Hesed read an excerpt from “The Origin of Species” by Charles Darwin. Kezia Hesed, sister of the groom, read Colossians 3:12-17. A meditation entitled “Lively Lives” was given by Muriel Stackley. Kimberly Glick, cousin of the groom, played music she had composed on the hammered dulcimer.

The full, ballroom skirt swept into a semi-cathedral train also covered in tulle overlay and delicately beaded. Her fingertip illusion veil fell from a crystal and rhinestone tiara.

Christene Garrett of WaKeeney and Stuart Hutchison of Great Bend were united in marriage on Feb. 16 at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel in Great Bend with the Rev. Hal Staats Jr. officiating.

A family reception following the ceremony was held at the Highland Hotel Gold Room. The couple flew to Atlanta, Ga., for a honeymoon.

Courtney Kimple and Ryan McReynolds were united in marriage on Oct. 20, 2007, at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence in a double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Dr. Peter Luckey. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Parents of the couple are Richard and Linda Kimple of Ellinwood and Richard and Vickie McReynolds of Topeka.

Matron of honor was Jennifer Klepper of Ellinwood. Bridesmaids were Kelly Kimple, sister-in-law of the bride, of Fort Collins, Colo., Aubrey Ammon, of Overland Park, and Lacy Frees, of San Francisco, Calif.

Best man was David English of Overland Park. Groomsmen were Matt Huston of Manhattan and Ryan Ammon and Barry Clark, both of Overland Park.

The groom is a graduate of Topeka West High School. He graduated from Kansas University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is employed by Handcrafted Wines of Kansas in Lenexa.

Coon -

Chelsea Rose Doonan of Westmoreland and Christopher Courtland Coon of Wamego were united in marriage on April 28, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in a double-ring ceremony, officiated by Kevin Ingram of Manhattan. Parents of the couple are Warren and Jeanne Doonan of Great Bend and Mike and Carol Coon of Wamego. Grandparents of the bride are Wendell and Mary Jane Doonan of Great Bend. Grandmother of the groom is Margene Pageler of Wamego.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Valerie Couture by Moonlight strapless A-line gown with a fitted, dropped-waist bodice. The gown was of ivory Italian satin accented by cultured pearls, sequins and Swarovski crystals on the bodice and running the length of the train. Her fingertip veil was held by a crystal tiara. She carried a bouquet of red roses, pink lilies and white stephanotis.

The bride's attendants were Crystal Schroeder of Great Bend; Lori Doonan, sister-in-law of the bride, of Cleveland, Ohio; Lyndsay Doonan, sister-in-law of the bride, of Fort Smith, Ark.; Megan Romine and Amanda Garrett both of Manhattan; Krista Farrell, sister of the groom, of Salina; and Tara Olsen of Lawrence. They wore red, strapless, tea-length gowns with a looped ivory sash and carried bouquets of red, white and pink roses.

Best man was Toby Hendricks of Alta Vista. Groomsmen were Sam Stutzman of Lincoln, Neb.; Jarrod Doonan, brother of the bride, of Fort Smith; Ryan Almes and Heath Major, both of Manhattan; Paul Farrell of Salina; and Brian Blume of Wamego.

Flower girl was Harley Dougherty of Great Bend. Brendyn Schroeder of Great Bend was the ring bearer. Candlelighters were Zach Farrell and Mason Farrell, nephews of the groom. Music was provided by the Topeka String Quartet and vocalists were Jarrod and Lyndsay Doonan.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in family studies and human services. She is employed by Baystone Financial Group in Manhattan.

Chris is a graduate of Hutchinson Community College with a degree in fire science. He is employed with the city of Manhattan as a firefighter.

The couple reside in Westmoreland.

Miller - Gilmore

Jennifer Marie Miller and Matthew Edward Gilmore were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony on July 28, 2007, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg. Parents of the couple are John and Connie Miller of Claflin and John and Kathie Gilmore of Pittsburg. The ceremony was officiated by the Most Reverend Bishop Ronald M. Gilmore, DD, of Dodge City and Father Tom Stroot, of Pittsburg.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a fitted Pronovias gown with trumpet skirt. The gown and train were constructed of plumetti tulle and adorned with lace appliqués. The bodice and skirt were accented with a satin bow. The shoulder-length veil also fashioned a matching satin bow. The bride carried a hand-tied, round bouquet of white calla lilies, white lilies and white and yellow narcissus.

Maid of honor was Lisa Gruver of Winfield. Bridesmaids were Aubrey Folk of Emporia, Bobbi Sue Musgrove of Memphis, Tenn., and Katy Struble of Derby. They wore black, tea-length, strapless dresses adorned with lace and a satin ribbon around the waist. They each carried bouquets similar to the bride's.

Best man was Mark Schremmer of Topeka. Groomsmen were Ryan Boler and Zack Manns of Pittsburg, and Jerrod O'Nelio of Los Angeles, Calif.

Ushers were Mark Miller, brother of the bride, and Brent Fast and Phil Spieckermann, both of Wichita. Lectors were Amy Renn, sister of the groom, and Grant Miller, brother of the bride. Soloist was June Abbott, Atlanta, Ga., aunt of the bride.

The bride graduated from Claflin High School in 2001. She received a bachelor's degree in biology in 2005 and is attending Wichita State University. She anticipates graduating in May with a doctorate of physical therapy.

The groom graduated from St. Mary's Colgan High School in 1997. He received a bachelor's degree from Pittsburg State University in finance and marketing and received a master's degree in business administration in 2005. He works as an associate national bank examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of Currency in Joplin, Mo.

The couple reside in Pittsburg.

She is the granddaughter of Clinton and Orella Gfeller and Velma Wolf, all of Junction City, and the late Cloyd Wolf. He is the grandson of Floyd and Bonnie Loughrige of Larned and the late Edward and Inez Heidrick.

Jerke –

Linda Dueser and Harlen Jerke exchanged wedding vows in a double-ring ceremony on Dec. 29 at the First United Methodist Church in Great Bend. Officiating the ceremony were the Rev. Gary Brooks and the Rev. Jim Strasen.

The bride was escorted by her nephew, Andrew Debes of Wichita. Ushers were sons of the bridegroom, Travis Jerke of Bloomington, Ind., and Chad Jerke and Eric Jerke, both of Great Bend.

Musicians for the ceremony were Nina Jerke, vocalist, Eric Jerke, pianist, and Brad Shirer, organist.

Candlelighters were grandchildren of the bridegroom, Alyssa, Cassidy and Meghan Jerke of Bloomington, Ind., and Kaitlyn, Max, Zoe, Noah, Rylee and Grace Jerke, all of Great Bend.

The wedding was followed by a luncheon/reception in the church fellowship hall. Reception assistants were Janice Lubeck and Reta Wynne of Great Bend and Marcia Sauber of Ellinwood.

The bride, formerly of El Dorado and Ellinwood, has lived in Great Bend since 1972 and is employed as a communications specialist at Barton County Community College.

The groom is originally from the Tripp and Scotland, S.D., area and has lived in Great Bend since 1973. He is retired after 32 years as a financial associate with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
