Once again it is that time of year to recognize agriculture producers that have done an outstanding job of conserving our natural resource. Producers are recognized thru the Kansas Bankers Awards. This program is sponsored by the Kansas Bankers Association. This year there are six categories that awards will be considered: Energy Conservation; Water Quality; Water Conservation; Soil Conservation; Windbreaks and Wildlife Habitat
The purpose of this program is to stimulate a greater interest in the conservation of agricultural and natural resources of Kansas by giving recognition to farmers and ranchers who have made great contributions in practicing conservation on the land. Last year 239 Kansas producers and landowners were recognized for their efforts.
This year the Barton County Key Banker is Shane Dicks with Community Bank. We will conducting the Bankers Tour Oct 26th. If you have Barton County producers that you would like to nominate for an award please call my office by Monday Oct 24th at 620-792-3346 Ext. 35.
