The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Chief Dave White announced the cutoff date of May 20, of another funding opportunity for both certified organic producers and those transitioning to organic production systems.
Fiscal year 2011 marks the third year of USDA’s Organic Initiative through the NRCS Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/programs/eqip/organic/index.html. Through EQIP, NRCS provides financial and technical assistance on eligible conservation practices. Beginning, limited resource, and socially disadvantaged producers may be eligible for additional financial assistance.
Producers interested in applying for EQIP Organic Initiative funding must submit applications at their local NRCS Service Center, located at Great Bend. USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
