The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development announces that Andrea Bauer has joined their progressive team as the new Director of Sales and Member Services. Bauer’s responsibilities will include membership and sponsorship sales, event planning, program management, and other special projects. “Andrea’s background in event planning and hospitality will make her a great fit in our organization,” says Chamber President/CEO Jan Peters. “We are excited to bring home a Great Bend High School graduate, especially someone who is so creative and driven.”
After graduating from Great Bend High School in 2002, Bauer received a Bachelors of Science in Arts Management from Oklahoma City University. She also earned a Certified Meeting Professional designation earlier this year.
Bauer comes to the Chamber from EPIC Entertainment Inc., a subsidiary of Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, where she was the Director of New Client Relations/Event Producer. In her position with EPIC, she managed events nationwide and developed a strong career in strategic communications, event planning and production, and other critical areas that will be utilized in her new position at the Chamber. Prior to joining EPIC in 2007, Bauer managed collegiate events for Oklahoma City University.
Andrea and her husband, Rob Bauer, recently relocated to Great Bend from Kansas City. Rob is an associate attorney at Bauer and Pike Chtd. “We are both Great Bend natives, so it is exciting to return home and reconnect with the community in our new positions,” Bauer says. “I look forward to networking with Chamber members in the near future and developing relationships with the businesses served by the Chamber.”
