HOISINGTON – For the past dozen years, Michelle Moshier, executive director of the Clara Barton Hospital Foundation, has coordinated the annual fundraising event held Father’s Day weekend.
This year, the annual event is back with all activities to be in-person. The golf teams will enjoy their day on Friday, June 17. A dinner and auction take place on June 18.
Many auction items will be available in a on-line format but some items are only available during the live auction at the dinner event. With the Mardi Gras theme, Moshier looks forward to “letting the good times roll.”
Proceeds from this year’s event are to help fund the installation of an in-house MRI scanner.
“We are super excited that when we get our new MRI unit in the space we are funding, it will be a 70 cm bore,” said Moshier. The mobile unit used by Clara Barton has somewhere around a 24” bore.
“So we will be quite a bit bigger,” she said. The goal is to raise $279,250 for the room renovation to house the MRI and other diagnostic tools.
Joining Moshier were radiologists, Betty Evers, Jenna Williams, Kolton Lang and Tera Zecha. When asked about the advantages of the new MRI, Williams said,
“So quicker scan time leads to quicker results,” Williams said. “We will have them here every day. As of right now, we only have them here three days a week.”
It is open ended so that helps with that closed-in feeling. Evers added, “We will also be offering breast imaging as well. We will be offering joint injections with our radiologists at the same time.”
The department looks forward to providing an even better patient experience when the renovations are complete though out the Clara Barton Hospital.
