On March 31, Eagle Communications announced its partnership with United Way of Central Kansas to raise funds for non-profits in Barton and Pawnee counties that are providing services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In just over one month, $8,000 was donated by individuals and businesses and the Robert E. and Patricia A. Schmidt Foundation matched those donations with a gift of $5,000.

United Way of Central Kansas Community Partners were then asked to request monies from this fund for direct service needs for community members. Staff from Eagle Communications were recruited to review the applications and determine the amount that would go to each requesting agency.

Agencies that will be receiving funding include: Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas, ElderCare, Inc., Family Crisis Center, Great Bend Children’s Learning Center, Hoisington Food Bank, and RSVP/Volunteers in Action. United Way of Central Kansas will also be a recipient of a portion of the funding to provide Hand Sanitizer Stations throughout Barton and Pawnee counties.
