HaysMed will sponsor a Cancer Symposium on Friday, April 11th. The program will be held at the Hadley Conference Room 2 at HaysMed, 2220 Canterbury, Hays. The program runs from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Speakers for the program include Mammoham Biring, MD, January Fields, MD, Camille Ellard, LMSW, CCM, Stephanie Niblock, Cancer Services Support Coordinator and Jo Klaus, RN, all with HaysMed. Additional speakers are Chris Lominska, MD and Jennifer Klemp, PhD, MPH with the University of Kansas Cancer Center and School of Medicine.
Topics to be covered include: lung cancer, palliative care, treatment of head and neck cancer, distress tools in cancer center, support services and programs for patients and clinical trials.
The program is designed for Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, ARNPs, Respiratory Therapists, Social Workers, PTs, OTs, Physicians, Physician Assistants and other interested healthcare professionals.
This course is approved for five (5.0 hours) continuing education credit for CNE, CME and Respiratory Care Continuing Education. Application has been made for ASRT Category A credit and paperwork will be provided to submit to KOTA and KPTA for credit.
Fees for the program are $50 for non HaysMed Associates, $25 for HaysMed, Critical Access Hospital and Pawnee Valley Community Hospital employees. A light meal is included in the registration.
