LARNED — The Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary continues to be a driven supporter in the development of a patient-centered environment at the hospital. Acute-In Care patients can now benefit from the raised funds of $1,095 for a plate warmer to ensure correct temperature between 120 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit for meals. This exceeds the standard temperature requirement of 125 degrees.
“This piece of equipment allows dietary staff to not only maintain optimum temperatures for the food served to hospital patients, but assures the food meets safety requirements.” said Pam Wong, PVCH dietary director.
PVCH dietary staff takes great pride in preparing a menu dedicated to the Kansas Hospital Education & Research Foundation’s Healthy Initiative regimen.
The PVCH Auxiliary also raised $3,398 for a Mondovap 2400 Sanitation System. This chemically free unit will steam clean a kitchen as well as patient and clinic rooms for complete neutralization and disinfection. With a surface temperature of 220 degrees, this machine provides the total solution to sanitize, clean and de-grease so as to achieve the highest standard of bacterial-free cleanliness. This device is another key to provide the utmost care with faster and safer results.
Pawnee Valley Community Hospital works hard to meet and exceed all federal, state and local policies. The auxiliary members are an integral part of the hospital. Their volunteering and fundraising to help purchase items such as the steamer and plate warmer are much appreciated by PVCH staff.
