The recent vaccine-related survey at Pawnee Valley Medical Associates (PVMA), Larned, indicated the family-medicine clinic had zero deficiencies, reported Jewel Davis, clinic office manager.

The Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE) conducted its on-site Vaccines for Children (VFC) survey July 21. During their time at the clinic, surveyors conducted a random chart review, and evaluated daily operations, screening/documentation, procedures, reporting and the clinic environment.

“We are truly gratified by the no-deficiencies report from KDHE,” Davis said. “This is just one more example of how PVMA continues to put our patients and community first.

“All of us strive to provide the best standard of care by meeting patients’ expectations in a considerate and respectful manner. Our staff routinely receives up-to-date training on policies and procedures, while always striving to provide the highest quality of care possible at our clinic.”

VFC is a federally funded program that provides vaccinations to children who may not otherwise have access to them. KDHE manages the program and distributes the vaccines to participating clinics. Eligible children receive all vaccines at no cost.

The patient must be 18 years old or younger, and either qualify for Medicaid, be uninsured or underinsured, or be an American Indian or Alaska Native.
