The Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility announced its Outstanding Employees of the Fourth Quarter for 2022: Uniformed Employee of the Quarter, Danny Bentley, Corrections Officer II; Non-Uniformed Employee, Jennifer Hansen, Storekeeper; and Contract Employee, Babe Breit, ARNP.
Bentley began his career with LCMHF in 2015 as a Corrections Officer I, promoting to a Corrections Officer II in August 2017.
His nomination reads, “COII Bentley has stepped in and filled several roles needed by the maintenance department. He has been instrumental in completing maintenance projects throughout the facility and also completing his detailed tasks in and around the community. His communication between security and maintenance is outstanding, he ensures that everyone is on task before any decisions are made. Most recently, he dedicated his personal time to completing the ‘wishing well’ memorial plaques while simultaneously working shift. As a department affair, we feel that COII Bentley is more than deserving to be recognized for upmost loyalty and work performance.”
Bentley fits the definition of team player and LCMHF is lucky to have him on staff.
Hansen began her career at LCMHF as a Correctional Officer I in 2015. In April 2022, she accepted a position as Storekeeper.
Her nomination reads, “Since taking over the duties as Storekeeper, there has been a notable shift in the frequency to which supplies are being accepted and delivered to their respective outlets. For the period of time that the warehouse manager was out on medical leave, Jennifer stepped up her duties and allowed the Supply Department to operate with high efficiency. Jennifer maintains open communication with all departments, especially the maintenance department, when confirming and ordering materials and supplies for ongoing projects.
Jennifer spends an unmeasurable amount of time contacting vendors and contractors to assist in ensuring that products and services are delivered in a reasonable time frame, also finding alternatives when the original plan does not work. She assists locating new vendors and thinks outside the box to obtain facility needs. She shows competence and tenacity, working through stressful situations and maintaining a professional and courteous attitude. Jennifer is a loyal employee of LCMHF and is so with a ‘willing to help’ frame of mind and deserves to be recognized. “
Hansen is an energetic employee always willing to step up and lend a hand.
Babe Breit began working for LCMHF’s health care provider as an APRN in 2017.
Her nomination reads, “Ms. Breit is a valuable asset to our medical team. She provides quality medical care to the patients we serve. She is mindful of security and best practices. She is aware of her surroundings, and values the importance of providing necessary care, while ensuring the safe and secure environment. With many changes in the correctional environment and populations, Ms. Breit has always adjusted and adapted to what is expected of her. We are very appreciative of all the work that Ms. Breit does for us at LCMHF, especially now in the absence of a site Medical Director. She is always seeking knowledge, and when she has questions is not afraid to ask, therefore continuously growing as a solid medical provider. She has also been tasked with training the newly hired APRN for ECF. “
Breit is a dedicated medical professional for Centurion and LCMHF is fortunate to have her at the facility.
