HOISINGTON — McCown Gordon Construction hosted a Hoisington Chamber of Commerce Coffee on March 30 at Clara Barton Medical Center.
Miquille Robinson, McCown Gordon Construction, presented slides showing the last of the current construction at Clara Barton Medical Center, Hoisington. As the company finishes the last details, the crews will move to the construction of the Ellinwood Hospital.
The work at CBMC should wrap up this week with the addition of handrails throughout the hallways. Robinson noted that the final phases were a challenge, as they installed the new flooring and wall treatments in critical areas such the emergency department while keeping the hospital fully functioning. They chose to work at night when hospital use is at its lowest. It did add time to the project as three nights were involved in tear out, preparation and installation in each area.
Sydney Rugan, director of public relations at Clara Barton Medical Center, asks everyone to mark their calendars for the Open House of the newly completed CBMC. The tours are scheduled from 4-7 p.m. on May 10.
