After a more than 20-year career as an electrical technician alongside his dad at Gibbs Electric, Paul Moeder is now picking up a shovel to join his wife, Kelly Meier-Moeder, in business at Kelly’s Garden Sense in Great Bend.
“Customer service and ensuring client satisfaction has always been my No. 1 goal,” said Paul. “When my dad decided to retire, this was my chance to reevaluate what I wanted to do next and lend my experience and leadership skills to help Kelly’s crew continue to grow and build exceptional landscapes.”
Having originally met when Paul was tree shopping over a decade ago, Paul has until now been an unofficial member of the landscaping crew, using his expertise to help on projects here and there. Now he will take on a leadership role, combining his building experience, crew leadership and attention to detail. Kelly will continue to serve as the designer and greenhouse manager, leading planting and seasonal pottery design.
“It just makes sense,” said Kelly. “Once we started talking about the possibility of Paul joining the team, we realized just how much his experience and talents will benefit our team and customers. We strive to provide a truly customized experience from the initial design to the landscape installation. Adding a greenhouse this last summer and 6,000+ locally grown Kansas annuals has increased our ability to serve more customers and Paul’s leadership is going to be key in ensuring we can still deliver the quality we’re known for on a larger scale. Since opening in 2015, our business has doubled year after year. With Paul on board, the future is even brighter!”
