Some customers have an idea of what they want, while others don’t quite know which direction to go. In either situation, Dana Peterson can help.

Peterson is the new graphic artist at Office Products Inc. in downtown Great Bend. She is using her academic and artistic background to guide customers through the process of designing business materials such as brochures, newsletters and business cards.

"I can talk with them about their business and then develop a design that will meet their needs," Peterson said. "In many cases, I can do a preliminary sketch to find out about their likes and dislikes."

Peterson was born in Great Bend and raised in La Crosse. She earned an associate’s degree in studio art and graphic design at Barton Community College in 2007, and a bachelor’s in the same major at McPherson College in 2009.

"This type of background allows me to work in any medium, including posters, signs and vinyl," Peterson said. "We can collaborate and find a way to showcase their business in the community.

"I enjoy working with the public and OPI is giving me all the tools necessary to ensure the customers are satisfied with their new designs," she added.

Tina Koochel, manager of OPI’s Copy, Print & Sign Shop, said the business is fortunate to have found Peterson.

"Dana is extremely creative and has a natural talent for design," Koochel said. "Our customers will benefit from her skills and expertise."

OPI is located at 1204 Main in Great Bend, 516 Broadway in Larned and 724 N. Main in Russell.
