BOULDER, Colo. — The Graduate School of Banking at Colorado (GSBC) announces that Christy Kuhn, executive vice president and member of the board of directors at The Plains State Bank in Great Bend, has graduated from the Executive Development Institute for Community Bankers® (EDI), a rigorous 19-month leadership development program for up-and-coming executive officers of community banks.
Kuhn was one of five community bank executives from around the U.S. to be recognized for completing the program, which combines hands-on leadership development training with sophisticated bank management strategies to position community bank executives for long-term success.
EDI participants experienced expert coaching and mentoring by experienced bank CEOs, and completed a series of projects designed to improve their banks’ overall performance.
“The time and effort invested by these graduates to better themselves and their banks is significant,” said GSBC President Tim Koch. “Their communities should be proud to have leaders who are actively preparing for a successful future.”
Kuhn brings nearly 30 years of successful community banking experience in Kansas to the bank and their board of directors. During her banking career she has been a part of the senior management team of several strategic initiatives earning her the respect of regulators, bankers and business professionals. She has directly managed or supervised human resources, information technology, external audit and corporate services.
Kuhn manages the central Kansas market through the banking facility in Great Bend where she resides with her husband, Eric.
