St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center is now collecting items for the live and silent auctions during its annual fundraiser for cancer patients. Proceeds will benefit people treated at Heartland Cancer Center, 204 Cleveland, which St. Rose owns.
The event is set for Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Club at StoneRidge. The silent auction and social hour will begin at 6 p.m., and the live auction will get under way at 7:30 p.m.
“We are grateful for donations of any value,” said Mark Mingenback, St. Rose director of marketing and business strategy. “The less expensive items will go into the silent auction and the rest in the live auction.
“We have always been able to count on the community’s generosity,” Mingenback added. “We trust our supporters will come through for us again this year.”
Anyone who wants to donate may contact Mingenback by calling 620-786-6136. Items can be delivered to the information desk in the St. Rose lobby or an auction-committee volunteer will pick them up.
Each ticket to the fundraiser is $35, which includes hors d’oeuvres. Tickets can be purchased at St. Rose or Heartland Cancer Center; by calling 620-786-6163; or visiting www.stroseasc.org.
“We are hoping for one of our best turnouts,” Mingenback said. “In the past, the event was on a Sunday night but people told us they would prefer a Saturday. So, we made the change to accommodate those requests.
“All of us at St. Rose want to do whatever we can to raise money for cancer patients who are uninsured or under-insured,” Mingenback noted.
Kenny Schremmer of Schremmer Realty, Auction & Appraisers will serve as auctioneer and singer Melanie Ryan will perform.
The St. Rose Golf Classic, which is a part of the annual cancer center fundraiser, is set for Monday, Oct. 1.
