The holidays will soon be here, and that means it is time for the “Holiday Tables,” sponsored by the Beautification Committee of the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development.
“Holiday Tables” is the major fundraiser of this committee, whose members are devoted to the beautification of Great Bend. They recently completed a two-year project renovating the grounds of the public library. Other projects have included the Broadway islands and the large flowering pots on Main Street.
Ten beautifully adorned tables full of unique decorations, heirloom dishes and clever ideas will be featured at the Rosewood Galleries showroom, 1607 Main, Nov. 10-11. In lieu of tickets, donations will be accepted this year.
Meanwhile, members of the committee are selling tickets for a chance to win one of Loretta Miller’s traditional, hand-crafted Santas, to be given away at the event. Miller, owner of The Gallery, will be in attendance and will be demonstrating how she creates her Santa faces during the event.
Tickets are available at The Gallery, 2021 Forest Ave., and at the Chamber office. They will be also available at the Holiday Tables event.
The 2012 Holiday Tables chairmen are Miller and Judy Reed. Other committee members are Linda Dougherty, Deon Lupton, Mary Kummer and June Hillman.
