For the third straight year, Barton County Young Professionals will host their annual Charity Supply Drive on Saturday, January 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Walmart Supercenter, 3503 10th St. in Great Bend.
YP members will be on site to distribute lists of items that are needed for the supply drive. After shoppers get done with their shopping they can drop off the requested items on their way out.
“If someone wants to give, we will have volunteers stationed at each door at Walmart,” said Candice Moeder, member of the YP steering committee. “We will have sheets that will list all of the items that are needed for the charities that we are giving to.”
Teaming up with the Great Bend Rotary Club, Young Professionals will give to the Barton County, Ellinwood and Hoisington Food Banks. Cash donations will also be accepted.
“We realized the need that needs to be taken care of in the community, and the last couple of years we have received outstanding support from Great Bend and  the surrounding areas,” Moeder said.
Barton County Young Professionals group is a program of the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development, designed to foster business and social networking among young working individuals in the Barton County area.
