Every Wednesday, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment updates its cluster location data, listing locations that have had five or more COVID-19 cases with symptom onset in the last 14 days. This week, Kenwood Plaza Assisted Living in St. John was listed as an exposure location, with seven cases in the last 14 days. The last onset date was July 30.
There have been 337,350 COVID-19 cases in Kansas as of 9 a.m. Wednesday, resulting in 11,807 hospitalizations and 5,286 statewide deaths. There have been 17 Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) cases associated with COVID-19.
There were 2,714 new cases, 70 new hospitalizations and 20 new deaths reported since Monday, Aug. 2.
Barton County has had a total of 93 hospital admissions, resulting in 21 intensive care unit admissions and seven patients on mechanical ventilation over the course of the pandemic. Pawnee County has had 52 hospital admissions, including 13 ICU admissions but no patients on mechanical ventilation.
