In an effort to assist public health officials in slowing the spread of the coronavirus, the Barton County Sheriff’s Office announced it will suspend visitation at the Barton County Jail until further notice. Attorneys and legal staff will be able to visit their clients as usual, but the general public will be prohibited from visiting inmates.
In making the announcement, Sheriff Brian Bellendir said, “I apologize for the inconvenience and I realize that visitation is important to families and inmates. We intend to resume visitation after the situation stabilizes.”
