Lavern and Ruby Brown will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Aug. 25, with family.
Ruby Schultz and Lavern S. Brown were united in marriage on Aug. 25, 1954, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ashland. Lavern has been affiliated with the oil and gas industry for 59 years. Ruby was employed for 18 years at Barton Community College in the Cosmetology Department. They couple has two children, Tom Brown of Great Bend and companion Shari Chism and Pam Bechard and husband Raymond of Lawrence; grandchildren, Ashley and Erik Henbelman of Philadelphia, Pa., Brennan and Danielle Bechard of Lawrence; and one great-granddaughter, Evie Henbelman.
