Sammy and Helen Jahay of Ellinwood celebrated their 50th anniversary on Aug. 18 in the company of their family and friends who joined the celebration by attending a dinner and dance held in the couples’ honor.
Helen Mitchell and Sammy Jahay were united in marriage on Aug. 20, 1962 at the United Methodist Church in Ellinwood. The couple has two children Duane and Cathy; four grandchildren, Dustin, Eleanor, Jessica and Alex; and arriving soon, one great-granddaughter.
Sammy and Helen continue to work the family farm which has been a part of their lives for over 40 years. They still enjoy holding hands; traveling to farm sales together and spending time with their families.
